The Son of God?
Did Jesus himself ever say He was the Son of God?
Gabriel knew he was.
Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall
come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:
therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called
the Son of God.
Satan knew he was.
Matt 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of
God, command that these stones be made bread.
Demons knew he was.
Matt 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with
thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the
time?
Luke 4:41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou
art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak:
for they knew that he was Christ.
His disciples knew he was.
Matt 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying,
Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
The centurion knew he was.
Matt 27:54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching
Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared
greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
Mark knew he was.
Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
John knew he was.
John 1:34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
Nathanael knew he was.
John 1:49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son
of God; thou art the King of Israel.
Martha knew he was.
John 11:27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the
Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
The Ethiopian Eunuch knew he was.
Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou
mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of
God.
Paul knew he was.
Acts 9:20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is
the Son of God.
AH, but you want Christ's own words. Will you be like THESE people?
Luke 22:67 Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell
you, ye will not believe:
*** Christ admitted that He was the Son of God.
John 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into
the world, Thou blasphemest; because I SAID, I AM THE SON OF GOD?
Jesus agreed with those who claimed He was the Son of God and the King of
the Jews.
Matt 26:63-66 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and
said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether
thou be the Christ, the Son of God. 64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said:
John 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus
answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for
this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the
truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
Jesus claimed to be the "I Am" which existed before Abraham.
John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before
Abraham was, I am.
That's why they crucified Him! The high priest took it that He claimed to
be the Son of God!
Matt 26:63-66 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and
said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether
thou be the Christ, the Son of God. 64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast
said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man
sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. 65
Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy;
what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his
blasphemy. 66 What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
He told those at Lazarus' tomb that he was the Son of God.
John 11:4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto
death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified
thereby.
He claimed to be One with the Father,
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
And he PROVED that he was the Son of God by rising from the dead.
Rom 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according
to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
So will you BELIEVE him, like this man?
John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found
him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? 36 He answered
and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? 37 And Jesus said
unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
Will Christ greet you as beloved or like this?
Rev 2:18... These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto
a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
Your belief or unbelief is YOUR choice. YOU CHOOSE - heaven or hell.
Jesus is the Son of God, and was attested so by all these observers, and
he confessed to be so Himself.
