Is there a God?

If there isn't, NOTHING matters. We might as well do what we want when we want, without regard for the rights of others (and they will feel the same about us). If there's no God, there's no standard for right and wrong beyond our own opinions. Our opinions may differ. Who decides who is right? Why is murder wrong? Why is rape wrong? Perhaps it's somebody's "sexual preference". Logic demands there be a God.

The fact of life demands there be a God. Life arising from dead matter (spontaneous generation) is a scientific impossibility. Therefore, how we got here cannot be explained by natural means. It can only be explained by resorting to SUPER-natural means (go to the "Creation" page for details). The thought that the entire universe got here by random chance is ludicrous.

Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Are we all accountable to God?

One second after you're dead, you will meet face-to-face with the God of the universe. It's absolutely imperative that you find out what He expects.

Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

How can we know what God expects?

If God did not communicate unto us what he expects from us, He wouldn't be just in holding us accountable to it. God gave us the Authorized Bible, His word, to tell us what we need to know to give account to Him.

The word of God (the Bible) is an unchangeable standard that we can rely on. Either it is true, and is God's word, or we're back to NOTHING. People, organizations, even churches, can change or be in error. You would never know for sure what God expects by following any of those.

The Bible itself offers us to put it to the test of prophecy. It has made hundreds of prophecies that were fulfilled, and NONE that didn't come to pass. The Old Testament accurately foretold of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. It predicted his town of birth, where he'd grow-up, and gave details of his death including such specifics as the method of his death, that soldiers would gamble over his clothes and give him vinegar to drink as he died, and dozens more. ALL came to pass just as the Bible said.

Thousands of years ago the Bible predicted that Israel would be restored as a nation. Scoffers laughed at that for centuries. But in 1948 the Balfour Declaration began to provide for Israel to regain nationhood. The capital city, Jerusalem, was restored to them in 1973. Who's laughing now?

What does God require of us?

Here's the most important thing (other things can be found in the Bible): Because He is perfect, righteous, and holy, and heaven cannot be tainted, God expects us to be PERFECT!

Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth,
Simple enough?

But nobody's perfect!

Correct. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Huh? How can we stand perfect before God?

God did an unfathomable thing for us. He became a man, in the person of Jesus Christ, so He could come to earth and live a sinless life, die, and be raised from the dead. Thus, Jesus Christ defeated sin, death, and Satan. He offers to exchange His righteousness for our sin. I don't understand it all, but I was sure willing to make the trade!

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

How can I receive this gift?

It's as easy as A-B-C!

• ADMIT: That you're a sinner, condemned to physical and spiritual death, because you are not perfect. Romans 3:10, 6:23, & James 1:15 There is NONE righteous, no, not one ... the wages of sin is DEATH ... sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth DEATH. (Spiritual death is eternity in HELL.)
• BELIEVE: that JESUS died, rose again, and that He alone can save you from sin, death, and Hell. Romans 10:9-10 believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness.
• CONFESS: JESUS CHRIST, and nothing else, as your own Saviour. Romans 10:9-10 & 13 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus ... confession is made unto salvation ... whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

You will eventually face God. It will not matter what any church taught, what any pastor said, or what you think (unless it agrees with God's word, the Bible). It will only matter what God said.
