I am Wisconsin's 6th District Representative for the Constitution Party. I know, or have met, many of the party "Big Shots".
Our Presidential candidate has been Howard Phillips, a saved Baptist. I've met him, and have had dinner with his son, Doug, also a saved Baptist, who is a lawyer defending Home-Schoolers.
Howard graduated from Harvard as class President. He defeated Tom Petri for the honor. Petri happens to be the congressman from my district, so I intend to remind him at every opportunity!
Howard was named to head two presidential committees by Richard Nixon, and it was there where he proved his mettle. One of them was some kind of "Economic Opportunity" committee that Phillips realized right away was an unconstitutional expenditure of taxpayer's money. He confronted Nixon, and Tricky Dick promised to cut the program from the next budget. It takes some character to voluntary give up a cushy executive branch job, but Phillips did so on principle. Then the new budget came out, and Nixon reneged, and continued the funding. Again Phillips confronted Nixon, to no avail. Phillips then resigned BOTH posts, not wanting to take part in a corrupt administration. He began the "Conservative Caucus", which developed into the Constitution Party.
The Party stands for the Bible and the Constitution and advocates a return to the Biblical foundation of our nation. All or nearly all, of the officers of the party are saved Christians. As a matter of fact, at our 1st State Convention, about three years ago, a Catholic man got SAVED as a result of the messages he heard! I don't recall that happening at ANY Republican convention, even with Reagan in office.
We believe we are accountable to God for who WE vote for, NOT who wins - results are God's business, our job is to do what's right as individuals. We are tired of settling for "lesser evils". Bob Dole voted to put abortion protesters in jail, to give homosexuals hiring preference, for every New World Order program available, for the Brady bill and the semi-auto ban, and for more tax hikes than any man alive! Yet most Christians voted for him, following the Republican Party like blind sheep.
Of course President Hilary and her boy Slick, and their party, are wicked without doubt. But the Republicans are no better but in rhetoric. They are wolves in sheep's clothing, which is worse than an exposed wolf.
We've only been in two presidential elections, yet we are already the
third largest party in America, passing up the Libertarians, and all the
socialist parties, in short order. Phillips received more than four times
as many votes this past election, than the one before that.
